Russia opens FAN ID entrance for foreign FIFA World Cup guests

MOSCOW, Jun 4 (PRIME) -- Russia has opened its borders for foreign guests of the FIFA World Cup matches, which will be held in the country on June 14–July 15, who can come to the country from Monday with their visitor passport FAN ID without any additional visas, the digital development ministry said in a statement.

“An electronic form of a fan passport is sent in a PDF format to a foreign visitor on the e-mail indicated during the registration for the FAN ID receipt. We recommend printing it to facilitate the process of crossing the border,” Andrei Romankov, deputy director of the strategic projects department at the ministry, said.

In order to visit a match, visitors should present their tickets and FAN IDs. After entering the country with an electronic form of a FAN ID, foreign visitors should address any FAN ID center to obtain a physical fan passport.

A FAN ID is a personified card of a visitor that is an obligatory part of the system of identification of football fans.

The order of entering the country via FAN IDs will be in force through July 15, and FAN ID owners must leave Russia no later than July 25.
